The Gummy Awards: Your Top 10 Movies Of 2013
We continue our unveiling of the year’s Gummy Award winners today with your (and the readers of Stereogum’s) choices for the year’s best movies. If any movies are reading this, make sure your phones are nearby for when your publicist calls! And please remember that it’s an honor just to be a movie. Someone spent a lot of money on you. I’m not sure if this is something I’m imagining because I’m boring and can’t keep up with the fast paced lifestyle that cinema demands, or maybe I just feel this way because now is the time when all of the good movies come out all at once and I’m overwhelmed, but it seemed like there were too many good movies this year? I didn’t see so many of the ones that I wanted to! Here’s an idea: next year, fewer good movies. Maybe only one or two every two months that are worth seeing. Then we can see them, live our lives, and know what everyone is talking about! But hey, I’m just an idea man. It’s up to the filmmakers to put that into action. So for now, HERE ARE YOUR GUMMYS!
