Vince Gilligan’s Next Series Is Coming To CBS
As we approach what is to be truly one of the saddest weekends of our whole entire lives (on our death bed, with tears in our eyes, we’ll tell our loved ones that our only regret is having ever started watching Breaking Bad — we’ve learned, in our years, that the pain of saying goodbye just wasn’t worth it) (“Also, don’t form any close relationships,” we’ll tell them, “everyone leaves you in the end. Everyone hurts you. In the end you are alone, why make getting there more painful.”) (we’re going to be VERY cranky about being on our death beds) (haha, I can’t believe we still haven’t finished the first sentence!) it seems a bit like we might never be consoled. “Don’t even try,” we say to our pet as it nuzzles its face up against our leg. “Don’t even try,” we say to the nice barista. “Don’t you dare even try,” we say to The Hollywood Reporter:
Vince Gilligan has landed his next project.
An early drama spec from the Breaking Bad creator has been granted a series production order for the 2014-15 season. The project, which was first developed at CBS in 2002, centers on two detectives with very different world views who are teamed up. Together, they must answer the question: Are cynicism, guile and deception enough to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan, in the face of a complete lack of resources, or is the exact opposite true — it takes naïveté, trust and a boatload of resources?
WAIT, ANOTHER TV SHOW?! Who would have ever thought Vine Gilligan would have another TV show? What a treat! And a TV show that sounds like X-Files meets Law & Order, basically, more or less? Give me a break. David Shore, the creator of House, is on board as executive producer and showrunner, and Breaking Bad’s executive producer Mark Johnson is going to fulfill the same role here. Sounds great. Cool. The world keeps on turning! #allbattlethingsmustcometoabeginning
