Congratulations To Cedric The Entertainer, New Host Of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
It looks like congratulations are in order! Though, I have to admit that I have some mixed emotions. I had no idea that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was even looking for a new host to replace Meredith Vieira, let alone that they were ready to announce who that host is. Had they kept the search and switch from us on purpose? Tried to sweep Meredith under the rug without a hint of a guess from our end on who could replace her? Did they expect doing so would keep us from asking what Meredith Vieira is doing next? Why is she leaving, Disney-ABC Domestic TV? Why did you add so many new lifelines and new rules to Who Wants To Be A Millionaireafter Regis left? Did that work — did it keep viewers interested? Are your ratings good? Are you going to add in different rules when Cedric takes over? Who makes the new rules? We could ask Who Wants To Be A Millionaire questions all day, obviously, but I guess we should go back to congratulating Cedric on what we’ve been brought here about. It looks like they really like you, Ced! From Deadline:
“With his deep roots as a successful stand-up comedian and actor, Cedric will bring his fresh approach and unpredictable fun to the show,” said Janice Marinelli, president, Disney-ABC Domestic TV.
JANICE! Cedric The Entertainer — congratulations. You did it. The second member of The Original Kings of Comedy to be recruited to host a syndicated game show, after Steve Harvey and Family Feud. It’s certainly no First Member to be Recruited, but you can take pride in knowing that it is also certainly no Third Member to be Recruited. Who wants to be a millionaire, you ask? Well, if money were counted in how much we congratulate our new game show hosts, we want to and already are.
