Last year, around the time he released his beautiful album “What Is This Heart?”, How To Dress Well played a record-release show in Berlin with Minna Choi’s Magik*Magik orchestra. With them, he recorded a soft, stunning version of the album track “Pour Cyril.” When bands record with orchestras, that usually brings out the bombast. Here, if anything, the song sounds stripped-down and minimal, with zero artifice hiding Krell’s luminous man-broken vocal performance. This is a lovely version of a lovely song, and you can hear it below.
