New Weeknd Album Out This Summer?
The Weeknd already seemed kind of played out by the time his official debut album Kiss Land came out in 2013, but he’s certifiably way more famous now. Abel Tesfaye scored his first Hot 100 top-10 hit last year with the Ariana Grande duet “Love Me Harder,” and his Fifty Shades Of Grey single “Earned It” recently made it all the way to #3. Plus he practically headlined over actual-headliner Jack White at Coachella when festival organizers decided he’d make for a better nightcap. In other words, the time is right for a new Weeknd album, and indeed, Revolt reports that Tesfaye has one coming in August. The report also points out a week-old tweet from Republic Records exec Charlie Walk promising “the craziest @theweeknd song ever” this June.
I just worked out to the craziest @theweeknd song ever. Can't wait for you to hear it in June!

UPDATE: Tesfaye denies the report, and a representative from Republic confirms that no release date has been set.
information about my album date is false. i apologize to the fans for the inconvenience. XO
