Jessica Pratt released her latest odyssey of a folk record, the follow-up to her self-titled, skeletal debut, this past January. On Your Own Love Again is just as haunting, but Pratt’s rambling lyricism twists itself into memorable melodies throughout; the hooks are subtle, but they’re there. “Back, Baby” is a somber, catchy bit of magic, and Pratt performed it on Chicago’s WGN-TV ahead of her stint at Pitchfork Music Festival this past weekend.
