There are a lot of reasons to be sad and upset about the bigotry that runs rampant in our culture, but ultimately you just have to feel sad for these schmucks. Their way of life is dying, and they are being dragged kicking and screaming into a world that terrifies them. There is absolutely nothing they can do, besides die, to avoid living in a world where people are smoking weed in public and marrying whomever they want. The sheer existential terror this creates in them is almost impossible to wrap your head around.
