Now Tesco Is Selling Vinyl

Have we reached peak vinyl? Not in the UK! British supermarket/general merchandise retail giant Tesco has announced that after a successful trial run of selling the new Iron Maiden album on vinyl last summer, they’ve decided to expand their stock and get in the vinyl game for real. “Vinyl is definitely coming back with demand growing stronger year by year and we think there will be a big demand in the UK this Christmas as music fans look for trendy gifting options,” says Tesco music buyer Michael Mulligan. As The Guardian reports, their limited selection of 20 titles will include classic albums like Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA, the Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers, Prince’s Purple Rain, and Nirvana’s Nevermind, and also some new “classics” like Coldplay’s unfortunate A Head Full Of Dreams and George Ezra’s Wanted On Voyage. Of course, they started selling turntables last Christmas, so now they’ve got everything you need to start your collection. The vinyl revival continues!
