Paul McCartney, Natasha Bedingfield, & Sean Paul’s New Video Is Not Going To Save the Planet
Look, their intentions were good. We can’t question that. When Paul McCartney, Natasha Bedingfield, Colbie Callait, and Sean Paul came together to record a big, gloopy tune called “Love Song To The Earth,” they were really hoping to convince some people that it’s a good idea to gut greenhouse gas emissions. When they filmed the video, wearing all-white outfits and emoting against natural backdrops, they had the same goal in mind. The video debuted during the recent Paris climate-change conference, in front of an audience that included U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and various world leaders. And those world leaders were probably uncomfortable! Because this video and song are very bad! They’re bad in only the way that truly well-intentioned things can be bad. They will make you feel embarrassed about the entire concept of environmentalism. You can watch the video at Rolling Stone, if you really want.
