Fred Durst Reportedly Banned From Ukraine
Back in October, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst said that he was interested in maybe moving to Crimea, the region that Russia violently annexed from Ukraine in 2014. Russia, eager to make the area appealing to celebrities, seemingly welcomed him with open arms via the country’s social media accounts.
It doesn’t look like Durst actually moved there, at least not permanently — his Instagram account currently shows him on a ski vacation in Montana — but his public statements were enough to push the Ukrainian government to apparently ban him from their country. The Associated Press (via Billboard) reports that various Ukranian news outlets say that Durst has been banned from entering the country for five years, citing “interests of guaranteeing the security of our state.”
If only the rest of the world had figured out the dangers of Limp Bizkit sooner!
UPDATE: It appears that the reason behind the band was that Durst wanted to shoot a reality show in the area, at least according to TMZ. Durst’s wife, Kseniya Beryazina, is from Crimea and the show would seemingly follow both of them around.
