Don McLean has been arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence charges. According to ABC News, McLean was arrested without incident and posted $10,000 bail this morning in Maine where the 70-year-old songwriter lives. McLean is best known for his 1971 Buddy Holly tribute “American Pie.” Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen was also arrested for domestic assault this month.

UPDATE: McLean pled guilty to assaulting his estranged wife and will pay a $3,000 fine to avoid jail time, according to Page Six. McLean initially pled not guilty.
