Adele, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd Among 2016 Grammy Performers
The nominations for this year’s Grammy Awards are shockingly decent, and it looks like we’re in for a rare Grammy telecast that will also be shockingly decent.
ABC reports that the Grammy producers have announced their first four performers, and they’re all, at the very least, watchable. You probably already could’ve guessed that Adele will perform on the show; she is, after all, single-handedly keeping the music business operating at this point. Kendrick Lamar and the Weeknd, both of whom had huge years last year, will also perform, and that’s good news, too. On the 2014 show show, Kendrick had to perform with Imagine Dragons, and he still tore it down; imagine what he’ll be able to do on his own! And the fourth announced performer is the country group Little Big Town, whose single “Girl Crush” is one of the secretly great huge pop songs of last year.
The show will also feature LL Cool J hosting and a salute to Lionel Ritchie, which just goes to show that we can’t always have nice things. It’ll air 2/15 on CBS, and for the first time ever, it’ll air live on the West Coast.
