Mexico City’s Festival Nrmal is that rarest of beasts: A music festival with its own unique identity. The festival leans toward indie rock, but it does so with a global and wide-reaching sensibility. And it books tons of Mexican acts alongside its international ones. As Brooklyn Vegan points out, the festival has just announced this year’s lineup, and it’s a good one. Slowdive, Deerhunter, and Battles are set to headline the festival, which runs 3/12-13. The rest of the bill also includes people like HEALTH, Jenny Hval, Empress Of, Low, Future Brown, a Place To Bury Strangers, Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paradiso U.F.O., jj, Blanck Mass, Cakes Da Killa, and the Body.
