You may think it strange to see coverage of the 1975, the Manchester new-wave heartthrobs, on Stereogum. But you should probably get used to it. Their new album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it is out in a couple of weeks, and it is fucking fascinating. We’ve posted the recent singles “UGH!” and “The Sound.” And on a recent visit to the BBC’s Live Lounge, the band worked its deeply strange magic on Justin Bieber’s world-conquering smash “Sorry,” turning it into a hiccuping new-romantic ballad with smooth-jazz sax tootles.
