Radio DJ Fired For Grabbing Taylor Swift’s Butt Sues Her For Slander
The suits and countersuits between Denver radio DJ David Mueller and Taylor Swift have been dizzying. Mueller brought his initial suit against Swift in September of last year, alleging that he was falsely accused of “lifting Swift’s skirt with his hand and touching her bottom” during a meet-and-greet before a 2013 concert in Denver. Mueller also asserted that he was confronted and verbally abused by Swift’s bodyguards, and told that he was banned for life from Taylor Swift concerts. His contract with KYGO radio was terminated two days later.
Swift then countersued Mueller in October of last year after he claimed his KYGO superior, Eddie Haskell, was the person who groped her. Swift’s countersuit reasserted that Mueller committed the acts in question and provided further details stating that he “intentionally reached under her skirt and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission… Mueller did not merely brush his hand against Ms. Swift while posing for the photograph. He lifted her skirt and groped her.”
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Mueller is countersuing Swift again, alleging that she slandered him during their ongoing legal battle. In an amended complaint filed last Thursday, Mueller added two slander claims to his existing allegations, claiming Swift’s statements are false and have caused harm to his reputation, profession and standing in the community. Both sides have claimed that the same photograph prove their allegations. Mueller contends that his hand is behind Swift and not visible, but “it is clear her skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller’s hand,” while Swift’s complaint simply states “the image depicted in the photograph of Ms. Swift with Melcher and Mueller speaks for itself.” This one is a doozy.
