Back in 2010, Laurie Anderson, the experimental-music trailblazer and the widow of Lou Reed, performed a concert for dogs in Sydney. And earlier this year, she brought the same show to Times Square in New York. The idea is that the music is pitched down to low frequencies, so that the dogs can enjoy it more, but I think the real idea is that Anderson loves playing to canine audiences. Who wouldn’t? Last night, Anderson was on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert to talk about the whole idea and to play some music for an audience of dogs. Anderson is a completely fascinating and likable presence, but the real reason to watch the performance below is dog reaction shots.
