Thom Yorke Auctions Handwritten Radiohead Lyrics For Oxfam
With Radiohead about to rumble back into action, Thom Yorke is offering one fan a chance to own a piece of the band’s history, and he’s raising money for a worthy cause in the process. To raise money for Oxfam, the anti-poverty charity, Yorke is auctioning off his handwritten lyrics to Radiohead’s OK Computer opener “Airbag.” They’re written on the inside cover of Yorke’s copy of William Blake’s Songs Of Innocence And Experience, and Yorke has heavily annotated the book. So you don’t just get those original “Airbag” lyrics; you also get Yorke’s insights on 18th-century British poetry! What a deal! The auction begins today, and right now, the bidding is at £1,600, or about $2318. You can take a look at the lyrics and enter a bid here.
