Last week, the cultishly beloved Los Angeles rock trio Autolux returned to the world with Pussy’s Dead, their first new album in six years. And last night, they brought two of its songs to the stage at the Late Show With Stephen Colbert. They did a two-song medley on the show, starting out with their blippy, Boots-produced “Soft Scene” and then leading into a charged up take on the heavy riff-rocker “Listen To The Order.” I’ve always thought of Autolux as the sort of band who uses the studio as an instrument, but with that performance, especially the second half, they proved that they can kick serious volumes of ass onstage, too. Also, for those keeping score at home, Colbert did not say the name of the album. Check out the performance below.
