Artistically speaking, Drake’s new album Views is pretty boring. But commercially, it’s a big success (although perhaps not as big of a success as his record label would have you believe). It’s expected to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart tomorrow, making it Drake’s sixth consecutive #1, and Billboard reports that the album sold 851,000 copies in its first week — Drake’s best sales week ever, the biggest sales week of 2016 so far, and the biggest sales week for an album by a male artist in over three years. And it’s still an Apple Music exclusive! Although Views was expected to hit Spotify after a week, that didn’t happen, but Music Business Worldwide reports that the album will finally be coming to Spotify next Friday, 5/13 — which means that those streaming and sales numbers will only be going up.
