Rosemary Fairweather is a 23-year-old dream pop artist from Toronto. She got her start at age 19 mimicking other artists, animals, and anything that sounded interesting to her until she found her own sound. Four years later, she makes a beautiful brand of indie pop with an infectiously groovy shimmer.

Her latest single is “Chemicals.” Fairweather’s gauzy whisper floats effortlessly above a rhythmic bass line, ringing guitar, and heavy-hitting, syncopated drums. The song builds to an evocative crescendo as she sings the catchy hook: “Chemicals, chemicals, chemicals, I can hear you/ Let me go, let me go, let me go, like I need you.” The song is about not being able to escape the constant inner workings of the brain and how helpless you can feel when part of your own anatomy betrays you.
