The 2012 ballad “Laura” is one of the best songs that Bat For Lashes has ever recorded, and now Amanda Palmer has shared her own version of the song. Palmer teamed up with the Australian musician Brendan Maclean to release a studio version of their cover, which they did nightly at the 2014 Sydney Festival. Palmer and Maclean’s version of the song is even more dramatic and expressionist than the original, and Palmer has dedicated her take on the song to her late friend Anthony. Below, hear their cover of the song, set to what appears to be footage of the two of them performing it live.
