For more than a decade, UK producer the Bug has built his name with intense, noisy, spartan productions that draw on genres like dancehall and grime, as well as things like instrumental noise and drone metal. (He linked up with experimental metal legends Earth for a 2014 collaborative single.) The Bug’s newest single is “Box,” which teams him up with D Double E, a veteran grime MC with a choppy, ferocious style that pairs nicely with the Bug’s blurps and shudders. It’s a very good example of two compatible artists bringing out the best in each other, and you can hear it below.
