Queens Of The Stone Age Will Hit The Studio Before Year-End
Josh Homme has been busy making music with Eagles Of Death Metal and Iggy Pop, and Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen has been doing his thing with the Mastodon/At The Drive-In/QOTSA supergroup Gone Is Gone, but it looks like they’ll both be returning to their main gig soon. In a new interview on the podcast 2 Hours With Matt Pinfield, as Ultimate Guitar points out, Van Leeuwen reveals that QOTSA will hit the studio before the end of the year to record the follow-up to their 2013 LP …Like Clockwork. “We’ve already started talking about what we’re gonna do next for the next Queens record. There’s tons of ideas that are bouncing around,” Van Leeuwen says. “We’re going to do something before the end of the year, as far as recording goes. We’re excited to get back together to follow-up …Like Clockwork, which was a really, really big record for us, personally. It was a big record for us ’cause it was the hardest record to make. And we’re trying to not do that again. We just want to keep things simpler and try that, I guess.”
