Watch The Julie Ruin Cover Courtney Barnett’s “Pedestrian At Best” In Chicago
Right now, the former Bikini Kill/Le Tigre leader Kathleen Hanna’s new band the Julie Ruin are touring behind their sophomore album Hit Reset. And last night, during a show at Chicago’s Thalia Hall, they covered one of the best rock songs we’ve heard in the past few years: “Pedestrian At Best,” the driving and nervous lead single from Courtney Barnett’s 2015 album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. In an energetic performance, Hanna split lead-vocal duties with keyboardist Kenny Mellman. Watch a fan-made video below.
Hit Reset is out now on Hardly Art.
