Watch Ryan Adams Cover Oasis’ “Morning Glory” & “Supersonic” Following Noel Gallagher Opening Set In Pittsburgh
A cover of Oasis’ “Wonderwall” might be one of Ryan Adams’ biggest hits, and over the years, former Oasis co-leader Noel Gallagher has said nice things about Adams’ version of the song. On Wednesday night at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE, Adams and his backing band the Shining had a good reason for not playing that “Wonderwall” cover: Noel “Potato” Gallagher was opening for him, and he’d already played that song. But Adams and his band did play a couple of Oasis covers during their set, taking on the band’s “Morning Glory” and “Supersonic.” It was Adams’ first time covering either song with the Shining, although he did play “Morning Glory” (with Gallagher) in London in 2002. Watch fan-made videos of both covers below.
That was probably a fun backstage environment.
UPDATE: The reviews are in!
