New Nine Inch Nails Song “Dive And Slam” Out Next Month? (UPDATE: Never Mind)
At the end of last year, Trent Reznor promised that we’d be getting new Nine Inch Nails material in 2016, and it looks like the time may finally be upon us. An anonymous Reddit post claims that the band has a new single called “Dive And Slam” on the way in September. It would be the band’s first new material since 2013’s Hesitation Marks. The user initially provided “proof” in the form of a screenshot from publishing company Kobalt’s database (above) that shows a 9/16 release date via Columbia Records, though they have since taken the evidence down. An incomplete entry in the ASCAP songwriting database appears to corroborate the claim, however. So it seems like we could be getting new NIN pretty soon. Exciting!
The single could be tied to the big Apple Music redesign, which Reznor helped oversee and which is scheduled to be due out this fall. Or it could be the start of a new album rollout. Or, most likely, both?
UPDATE: Never mind… Trent Reznor seems to discount the rumors in this recent tweet:
Not true.
