Gwen Stefani’s boyfriend Blake Shelton is in some hot water after some tweets he allegedly sent a few years ago made the rounds again on social earlier media this week. Now, I don’t have a microscope handy, but they seem pretty racist and homophobic. Judge for yourself (via HuffPo)!

Of course, country music isn’t known for its progressive politics, but these are pretty inexcusable no matter what way you look at it. Except Shelton does have an excuse: They were just jokes, people! He acknowledged the “humor” and apologized to anyone who “may have been offended” in a short statement:
