Left & Right – “Mouse Drum”
Philadelphia-via-Virginia quartet Left & Right are set to drop their latest album, The Yips, in a couple weeks. Today, they share a rhythmic, slow-churning early taste in the album’s opener “Mouse Drum.” A bluesy guitar chord drives the track, surrounded by subdued drums and infectious bass rhythms. Mellow but engaging storytelling through easy-floating harmonies are deceptively penetrating as Phil Dameron draws you in with smooth, nonchalant tenor. Judging from the lead-off track, The Yips would make “Blue Album”-era Weezer proud. Listen to “Mouse Drum” below.
