London Club Fabric To Close
The London nightclub Fabric closed last month pending a review of their license following the fatal drug overdoses of two 18-year-old attendees. Fabric’s management met with the Islington Council tonight to decide the fate of the club, and after six hours of deliberation, Mixmag reports, the council decided to revoke their license, forcing the club to shut down permanently. “There is a culture of drugs at Fabric which management cannot control,” said licensing subcommittee chair Flora Williamson in a closing statement. Alan Miller, chair of the Nightlife Industries Association, has announced that the NTIA will launch a Fund For Fabric to appeal the decision.

I'm sick to my stomach. As an American in Kentucky the Fabric mixes were my window to the world. This is inconceivable.

So they are swapping living, messy urban culture with a "museum of urban history"? Is there any corroboration to this comedy?

As a resident of Islington, I feel incredibly disappointed and angry at the councils decision to close @fabriclondon permanently..

..Such an important night club for London and it's culture. Another decision made by the powerful that affects the youth and not themselves

..50% of London's clubs have closed in the last 8 years, and 40% of live venues. This just isn't good enough for London. Help us @SadiqKhan
