Lady Gaga Rumored For Super Bowl Halftime
Last month, Adele claimed that she’d turned down an offer to perform at next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, and the NFL gave a sort of non-denial denial. That would’ve made sense. But this makes sense, too: Billboard reports that Lady Gaga is in talks to play the big show. Gaga, who did pretty well singing the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl, just released the comeback single “Perfect Illusion,” and her new album (which will feature a whole lot of indie-adjacent stars) looms imminent. She’d be a pretty good choice, honestly. She has enough hits, she’s famous enough, and she knows how to command a stage. And given her long history of performance-art silliness, there’s always a good chance she’ll do something fucking nuts, like vomit purple blood all over the 50-yard line. We can hope, anyway.
The big game goes down 2/5 at Houston’s NRG Stadium. And they can’t just get Beyoncé every year, can they?
