Gucci Mane Reteaming With Harmony Korine & James Franco On The Trap
Seriously, if Gucci Mane was your only example, you would think our prison system actually works. Dude has accomplished more since he’s been out than a lot of people do in a lifetime. One of those many things was being featured in an ad Harmony Korine shot for Supreme. It turns out, as Guwop revealed in an interview with GQ, he and Korine have stayed close since Spring Breakers, and they have many collaborations in the works. Here’s what Gucci had to say about Korine:
Harmony is my close friend, so it was easy. He’s super creative. Me and him work good together because we just freestyle shit, both of us don’t have no rigid mind state when we bring something to life. I love to act. It was just a great experience being in Spring Breakers, and it was just the beginning.
Wop and Korine’s next collab will be a flick called The Trap, which will also star Benicio del Toro, Al Pacino, and Gucci’s “boy” James Franco. Frankly, the existence of a movie called The Trap in 2016 with three white dudes attached to it could be #problematic, but knowing Gucci will be in it means there’s at least a little bit of authenticity? Anyway, Gucci is also producing and starring in his own movie called The Spot which he plans to release by year’s end. Get ready for the acting phase of Gucci’s career. How he does all of this and remains one of the most prolific artists in the game with Woptober following Everybody Looking in about three weeks is mind boggling. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, dude has a book coming out too. There’s no way he sleeps.
Woptober is out 10/17 on Atlantic.
