Watch Chance The Rapper Play The Tonight Show With Ty Dolla $ign, D.R.A.M., Anthony Hamilton, & Raury
Right now, I don’t think there’s a single performer working who understands the power of the TV performance better than Chance The Rapper, a man who does something incredible everytime there’s a camera pointed at him. Back in May, before the release of his staggering album Coloring Book, Chance appeared on The Tonight Show, debuting his song “Blessings” with a full gospel choir. And last night, he returned to The Tonight Show, this time doing the album track “Blessings (Reprise).” This time, he once again had a gospel choir, and he also had the all-star R&B team of Ty Dolla $ign, D.R.A.M., Anthony Hamilton, and a newly short-haired Raury. Ty$ played bass, Raury played guitar, and the whole thing was just beautifully, immaculately arranged and staged. Chance looked overcome with emotions as the song was starting and absolutely elated when it was over. It’s just a great performance, one among many from this guy, and you can watch it, along with Jimmy Fallon’s brief Chance interview, below.
Coloring Book is out now, but you already knew that.
