Dolly Parton is a songwriting genius and maybe also the single most likable person that the American celebrity-industrial complex has ever produced. Last night, she was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and she pretty much took the show over. On the show’s outdoor festival stage, she performed “Outside Your Door,” a lovely song from her recent album Pure & Simple. And she also sat for an interview that pretty much reaffirmed how awesome she is. She spoke about her theme park Dollywood, her friendship with Willie Nelson, and her tremendous gay fanbase, and she shared a really nice story about her late father.
