Chase Harris and Zach Alderman lead Deep Cuts, the Houston-based pop group with an affinity for Latin indie rock and jazz fusion. Today they’ve released “Take Me Back,” a single from their forthcoming full-length Society Gig. It’s a subdued track, even with the sentiment “I know I fucked up” repeated for emphasis. What starts a hair away from downtempo ends up being more funky than expected — a far cry from previous single “While The House Fills Up,” a rockier number with a U2 chorus.
