Watch Tyler, The Creator & Earl Sweatshirt’s Surprise EarlWolf Set At Camp Flog Gnaw
Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt started out together as linchpins of the Odd Future crew, but they’ve gone separate directions in recent years, and they haven’t made much music together in recent years. That’s changing. Earlier this fall, the two briefly reunited onstage at a Calgary rap festival, performing one of the few songs from EarlWolf, the planned collaborative project that never actually made much music. And last night, at Tyler’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival, they got back together onstage again, this time for longer.
As The FADER reports, there was a half-hour slot last night at Camp Flog Gnaw with no artist attached. Some fans assumed it would be a surprise appearance from Frank Ocean. Instead, it was Tyler and Earl getting back together to do a quick 11-minute EarlWolf set. They mostly performed old Odd Future tracks, from the era when they were still recording freestyles over other rappers’ beats. And for a little while, Tyler forgot his lyrics and just freestyled instead. Watch a fan-made video of the performance below.
In other Camp Flog Gnaw news, Sleigh Bells had to cancel their set at the last minute because of singer Alexis Krauss’ laryngitis:
1/ Friends/fans we are at Camp Flog Gnaw. We badly wanted to play but Alexis' laryngitis has gotten worse she can't sing or even talk…

2/ We hate to cancel but we have no other options. Thanks so much @tylerthecreator for the invite. LA we will be back 👊
