Vince Neil To Play Donald Trump’s Inauguration
One of the many reasons Barack Obama will be missed as president is because there probably won’t be as cool a POTUS for a very long time, if ever. Artists would jump at the chance to perform at the White House and there are even some that aspired to be on his iPod. It’s not so clear who would want to perform for Trump since pretty much all the music he used during his campaign was met with visceral disapproval from the artist or band that made it. It seemed Kid Rock would be his only option to perform at his inauguration, but Vince Neil is set to get on stage for the president-elect in Washington, DC on 1/20.
According to Billboard, the Motley Crue frontman will play without the rest of his band members, playing with a different live band instead. Neil said promoters of the event had inquired about his availability months ago.
The promoters asked if I was available, and I said yes. So we sent all of the band’s passports to the Secret Service so everybody can get in, and all of the crew people, not knowing who was winning. But we were already scheduled to play. I don’t know how long I have to play. I don’t know if the Republican Party says which [songs] to play and what not to do,” he says. “It’s a little ways out. I’ll have more information as time goes on.
Neil also confirmed he was indeed not at the third presidential debate, but even his own mother was fooled by the doppelgänger.
My mom called me, and said, “I saw you shaking Donald Trump’s hand!” [But] I wasn’t there! … The funny thing is I was invited to go and I just decided not to and watch it from home. I think just because there was a guy with long blonde hair from Las Vegas, it’s got to be Vince Neil, right? “Hey, Vince, you shaved!” Not really.
Maybe Kanye will perform for Trump too.
