Taxstone Denied Bail Over T.I. Concert Shooting
Daryl “Taxstone” Campbell, host of the popular hip-hop podcast Tax Season, was arrested earlier this week in connection to last May’s deadly shooting at Irving Plaza. Yesterday, his bail was set at $500,000, but now, Reuters reports that a Manhattan judge has revoked his bail after a prosecutor said that a witness could link him to the shooting.
Four people were shot at the concert, including rapper Troy Ave, who was arrested last year and has reportedly been feuding with Taxstone for years. Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, was also killed in the incident. While Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagan Scotten contends that Taxstone shot McPhatter, Taxstone’s defense attorney argues that he was “a victim and not the initiator of the event.”
