Elastica Reunite In The Studio
The UK band Elastica released one self-titled album of ridiculously catchy, close-to-perfect new wave in 1995. Then, they took five years to record The Menace, the pretty-good follow-up, and promptly broke up soon afterward, though they did have time to mentor M.I.A. before their split. These days, the members of the band have been living out of the spotlight for years; frontwoman Justine Frischmann, for instance, is a visual artist living in California. But now, Elastica appears to be back together and working on something.
As Vanyaland reports, the Abbey Road recording engineer Sean Magee tweeted, over the weekend, that he had just made a record with the members of Elastica, who had not seen one another in 20 years:
Cut a record for Elastica today, they hadn't seen each other for 20yrs. It's great to be there when moments like that happen

Meanwhile, Elastica have posted a series of photos of themselves in Abbey Road on their Facebook:
Those photos include three of the four original members of the band, but Frischmann is absent. However, in the comments of one of the photos, the band wrote, “Justine’s involved in what’s happening too, she’s just not in the picture though. Be patient a bit more till we break the official news, k? xx”
