Chris Richards, music critic for The Washington Post, is one of our most dependably interesting music writers. But he hasn’t always done that; he used to play guitar, and a few other instruments, in the great DC postpunk band Q And Not U. And now he’s back to making music. In 2008, Richards began recording with Pissed Jeans drummer (and former pro wrestler) Sean McGuinness. They quickly bashed out a ton of songs, then forgot about those songs, and then, years later, got together again to perfect them. Under the name Street Stains, they have now released a full self-titled album of driving, simplistic, fun-as-hell punk rock, and you can stream the whole thing below.
Street Stains is out now, and you can buy it for an exceedingly reasonable $3 at Bandcamp.
