Mathew Lee Cothran – “Cherry High” & “Farrah Abraham”
Matthew Lee Cothran (of Elvis Depressedly and Coma Cinema) is releasing a new album, Judas Hung Himself In America, under his own name at the end of the week. He’s introducing the album with two new tracks, “Cherry High” and “Farrah Abraham,” both warped pop songs about personal unrest when faced with what feels like the end times. The latter hammers that point home particularly effectively with Cothran’s looping chorus of “If I could end the world, I would end the world.” But the takeaway isn’t defeatism, but rather empathy and resilience. The new tracks come packaged with a great interview over at GoldFlakePaint, which you can check out while you listen to the tracks below.
Judas Hung Himself In America is out 2/24 via Joy Void Recordings.
