Bellows released an incredible album last year, and today Oliver Kalb has returned with a new song called “Broken Skin,” which will be included on a forthcoming split with Soft Fangs. It’s an interesting counterpart to Fist & Palm’s hopeful “Thick Skin,” melding padded beats and a piano to convey the hollowed-out numbness of what happens when that tough exterior is shattered. “You feel like a crook/ And I feel like a newborn baby/ I’ll meet you at the show where everybody sings the same thing,” Kalb sings at one point.
