“Cold Little Heart” is the opening track from artful, organic British soul singer Michael Kiwanuka’s recent album Love & Hate, an Album Of The Year nominee at the Brit Awards and BBC Music Awards this year. Today it gets a video starring Keith Stanfield, who you may know from his roles in Get Out, Straight Outta Compton, or Atlanta. (This isn’t Kiwanuka’s first Atlanta connection; his “Black Man In A White World” video was helmed by Atlanta director Hiro Murai.) For “Cold Little Heart,” director David Helman casts Stanfield in a bleary urban environment and lets his natural charisma draw you into the story. It helps to have a song as richly conceived as this one. Watch below.
