Drake Accuses Country Club Of Racial Profiling During Coachella
California’s Coachella Valley might turn into the site of America’s largest music festival two weekends out of every year, but it normally plays host to the type of ultra-rich people who don’t go to music festivals. The Coachella site is, after all, a polo field during most of the year, and it’s surrounded by golf courses where someone has to pay to pump in water so that the grass stays green and lustrous in the middle of the desert. And over the weekend, Drake, who was in town to make a surprise guest appearance during Future’s Coachella set, may have come into conflict with some of that old-money element.
In a since-deleted Instagram, Drake posted an image of the logo of the Madison Club, a private residential community with its own country club, which is located close to the Coachella site. In his Instagram, Drake wrote, “The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling 🙌🏽 #Coachella.”
