Earlier this year, Newcastle electronic duo Warm Digits shared the single “End Times,” a collaboration with Field Music’s Peter Brewis, from their then-untitled sophomore LP. Today, we’ve learned the title of that album. The 12-track Wireless World will be out this August, and will also feature new song “The Rumble And The Tremor,” which includes an assist from guest vocalist Devon Sproule.

Jittery, squiggling dance-rock, “The Rumble And The Tremor” tells the story of a power station that provides employment to a community without necessarily benefitting the residents. It’s part of Wireless World’s thematic focus on the rise of technology and its subsequent impact on socio-political discord. Around Sproule’s warnings and reservations, Andrew Hodson and Steve Jefferis construct an infectiously unnerving soundscape of dystopian funk. Listen below.
