Pittsburgh Radio Listeners Make Worst “Worst Song Ever” List
For the past week, Pittsburgh radio station WYEP has been asking its listeners to vote for the worst song ever. They managed to pick some pretty bad songs, but they also picked some total jams. Topping off the list is Paul Anka and Odia Coates’ 1974 hit “(You’re) Having My Baby,” with Nickelback’s photograph following closely behind. Check out the full list below.
20 Chicago – “You’re The Inspiration” (1984)
19 Paul McCartney & Wings – “Silly Love Songs” (1976)
18 REO Speedwagon – “Keep On Loving You” (1980)
17 Richard Harris – “MacArthur Park” (1968)
16 Cher – “Believe” (1998)
15 Styx – “Mr. Roboto” (1983)
14 4 Non Blondes – “What’s Up?” (1992)
13 Chumbawamba – “Tubthumping” (1997)
12 Starland Vocal Band – “Afternoon Delight” (1976)
11 Jimmy Buffett – “Cheeseburger in Paradise” (1978)
10 Phil Collins – “Sussudio” (1985)
09 The Beach Boys – “Kokomo” (1988)
08 Lou Bega – “Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of…)” (1999)
07 Debby Boone – “You Light Up My Life” (1977)
06 Starship – “We Built This City” (1985)
05 Billy Ray Cyrus – “Achy Breaky Heart” (1992)
04 Rick Dees – “Disco Duck” (1976)
03 Rebecca Black – “Friday” (2011)
02 Nickelback – “Photograph” (2005)
01 Paul Anka & Odia Coates – “(You’re) Having My Baby” (1974)
See, some of these songs are awesome. I love “Believe” and “Mr. Roboto.” Even “Mambo No. 5″ is fun. “Achy Breaky Heart” is still shitty, though. Would make a great/terrible playlist.
