Yowler – “Go”
Maryn Jones (All Dogs, Saintseneca) released her first solo album as Yowler back in 2015, and we named it one of the best of the year. The Offer is a spare, open-hearted album that finds Jones at her most vulnerable. She’s only released a couple of singles as Yowler since then — “The Light” and “Smiling” — but today, Jones and her label Double Double Whammy announced that The Offer will be reissued this summer on vinyl and it will include two new songs titled “Go” and “Tornado Warning.” I saw Jones perform a few months back at David Blaine’s The Steakhouse’s epic final show, and I’m fairly certain she debuted “Go” then, because when I listened to this song just now I felt as if I’d heard it before. It’s hard to forget lines like: “And I didn’t wanna give it up / But I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so lost / And somehow still an empty page / And the demons still know me by name.” The demons still know me by name. Listen below.
The reissue of The Offer is out 6/16 via Double Double Whammy. Pre-order it here.
