Pusha T Has Reportedly Been Helping Kanye “Stay On Track” In Wyoming
Earlier the month, we heard reports that Kanye West, out of the public eye after his recent breakdown and hospitalization, has been spending time at a mountaintop retreat in Wyoming, working on what might become a new album. And now, Page Six reports that he’s had company: Pusha T, president of Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music and longtime Kanye collaborator, has been spending time there with him. A source close to Kanye says that Kanye is “working to get back into his creative groove” and that Pusha is helping him “get on track.”
As that nameless source points out, the Wyoming retreat is pretty consistent with Kanye’s past methodology:
He’s far from any noise. He’s far from Hollywood and is very isolated right now. He wants to get back into his creative groove… He likes to work in remote places and be in the middle of nowhere as much as he can be… That’s his pattern. It’s what he always does. He goes away. He’s done Hawaii, Mexico, Paris, Malibu… It’s what he’s always done. He’s not in some “struggle” to find his creative voice. Any creative endeavor he’s done, there’s a start to the process and he wants to figure out what he talks about. It’s a creative journey every time, and he starts from scratch.
As for Pusha’s participation, here’s what the source says:
Pusha T has been visiting. He inspires Kanye to write. Kanye’s trying to find his creative voice again, and he has people there to help him get, and stay, on track. He’s still a little off and is trying to get himself back.
The source, however, disputes the idea that Kanye’s trips to the wilderness have anything to do with his recent breakdown:
He’s been very much Kanye and is in a great space… He’s jovial, happy… Has a sense of humor. He’s doing great. He’s not locked in somewhere to regain himself. That’s crazy.
A remote mountaintop studio with Pusha T seems like a pretty good place to get your creative flow going again. Fingers crossed for Kanye.
