Watch Rae Sremmurd & The Roots Perform “Swang” On The Tonight Show
Young rap energy-bombs Rae Sremmurd have a longstanding gift for turning album deep cuts into hits, even after their album has been out for nearly a year. Right now, they’re pulling it off with the late-breaking party anthem “Swang.” And last night, they appeared on The Tonight Show to perform it. The Roots backed them up, and this is probably not the kind of thing they’d imagine they’d be doing 20 years ago. Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi were, as ever, fun to watch, and Swae tried out a falsetto that was so far beyond his capabilities that it stopped being terrible and came right back around to awesome. Also of note: Swae turned 24 yesterday, and that means he is two months older than the Roots’ debut album Organix. Watch the performance below.
Rae Sremmurd’s album SremmLife 2 is out now on Ear Drummers/Interscope.
