After making headlines back in May for leaking unreleased tracks from Lil Wayne’s long-awaited Tha Carter V album, Martin Shkreli is back in the limelight this week after being found guilty on three counts of securities fraud. After his conviction, Shkreli participated in a live stream interview, in which he played a few minutes of Wu-Tang Clan’s $2 million double album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin.

“I don’t buy fancy things. I donated $2 million to Wu-Tang,” the former pharmaceutical exec tells the interviewer in the live stream video. “I got a mixtape in return. It was a wonderful investment. I view it as a donation. People might see that as splurging, but I don’t think there are many people in the world who have patronized hip-hop to the extent I have.”

Shkreli says he purchased the expensive album because of his “love for music” before previewing the record for the interviewer.

In October 2016, Shkreli tweeted that, “If Trump wins, my entire unreleased music collection, including unheard Nirvana, Beatles, and of course, Wu-Tang, comes out, for free,” though the full album was never liberated.
