Since releasing the excellent Clean, which we named one of the best albums of 2018 so far back in June, Soccer Mommy’s Sophie Allison has covered Bruce Springsteen and teamed up with HEALTH and Purity Ring’s Corrin Roddick for an unlikely collaboration. She’s about to head out on tour with Kacey Musgraves. But before that happens, she’s shared another cover: a warm, dusty take on the Dixie Chicks’ “White Open Spaces.”

“I’m a huge Dixie Chicks fan,” Sophie Allison says in a press release, a statement that her Twitter activity definitely backs up. “I think ‘Wide Open Spaces’ is one of those perfect ’90s alt country songs. Plus it’s relatable to any girl who’s moved away from home and had to start a new life somewhere.
